Bhote Koshi Power Company Private Limited (BKPC) is pleased to announce that one
of the two power generating units of its Upper Bhote Koshi Hydroelectric Plant, has
resumed operation with effect from mid night of May 3rd 2009.

Both power generating units of the BKPC Plant were put on emergency shut down and
maintenance since the evening of 4th February 2009 due to major electromechanical
problems that had suddenly arisen in its generators. As a result, BKPC Plant was not
able to generate and supply any electricity to Nepal Electricity Authority since then.
Maintenance is still underway in another Unit.

BKPC would like to thank all concerned for bearing with us during this unfortunate
interruption in power supply, which was beyond its control.
